Join us for Second Saturday*

On Saturday April 10th, 2021 at noon EST, Kiwimbi is hosting our next Second Saturday virtual event featuring a conversation with author Peter Kimani as we continue to explore the mosaic created by the blending of Indian, Kenyan and other cultural traditions in Kenya.

Historically, how did this come to be and how does it impact life today?

His latest book, “Dance of the Jakaranda,” is recognized as a New York Times Editor’s Choice and a Notable Book of the Year and his participation in our discussion about his book, and the broader topic of the cultural mosaic in Kenya, is sure to make this an incredibly meaningful and informative experience. We invite you to read his book in advance of our Second Saturday event, but join us even if you don’t have a chance to read it first!

After the event, all are invited to join us for about 30 minutes as a Kiwimbi Collaborator when we meet for a casual, informal sharing of ideas about upcoming Kiwimbi plans.

Have an idea about a fundraiser? A neat for a fun way for us to get together to learn something new? A suggestion about networking? Feedback on how to do something better in 2021?

We want to hear your thoughts, so please come and share them!

    Every Moment Counts

Your view of the world may not yet include a community in rural western Kenya where children often walk barefoot for miles to schools that offer little more than desks, a blackboard, and a teacher who lacks resources necessary to enable students to succeed academically. Kiwimbi International, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is providing children with an opportunity to learn so that they can create a productive life for themselves. We see a world where all people are empowered through education to enrich their lives and reach their fullest potential.

Kiwimbi is comprised of two organizations, a 501(c)(3) in the US and a corresponding NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) in Kenya. We work to enrich the lives of families in sub-Saharan Africa by creating educational opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen the community.
