Chris Layden
Trustee, Kiwimbi International
Christopher Layden is a Managing Director, joining VSS in 2025. He is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and structuring investment opportunities, transaction execution, and supporting portfolio companies.
Chris brings over three decades of investing experience across sectors with an emphasis on direct lending and structured capital. Prior to joining VSS, Chris was a Partner at GarMark Partners, a credit focused asset manager. Previously, he was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of York Street Capital, a private debt firm. Chris began his investment career in leveraged leasing and project finance at AT&T Capital and The CIT Group.
Chris holds an MBA from George Washington University and a BA from Fairfield University.
Chris’ belief in the power of education was instilled in him by his parents and he and his wife, Carolyn, have passed that belief along to their children. Chris hopes his experience with for profit and non-profit organizations can have a positive impact on the Kiwimbi mission.
