Emma Mamai
Vocational Coordinator, Kiwimbi Kenya
Emmah joined Kiwimbi in 2021 after completing courses in computers and a certificate program in education. She has had the professional opportunity to grow through several roles within Kiwimbi, each with an increase in responsibility.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of Emmah’s role is her direct interaction with the young women enrolled in the vocational programs. Many of these students were forced to drop out of formal school due to a lack of funds, and they have embraced this second chance at education with immense gratitude. Sharing this journey with them has instilled deep personal values in Emmah, including empathy and compassion, resilience, patience and humility.
Emmah is profoundly grateful to be part of Kiwimbi, an organization that champions the belief that learning is a continuous, lifelong pursuit. She takes pride in working within an inclusive environment where education is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, tribe, social status, family background, financial standing, or previous academic level. For Emmah, Kiwimbi is not just a workplace, but a community where barriers are broken and lives are transformed.
