Grant Writer, Kiwimbi International

She brings to her new role over 10 years of work experience gained in various marketing and administrative roles in the private sector. Her passion has been in development and empowerment through education. Salima was born and raised in Kenya.  She moved to the US in 2013 and has spent most of her time here pursing a Masters in Management degree at the Harvard University Extension School, volunteering at a Women’s Center, and raising her family. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the Africa Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya.

Away from the fast-paced life of work and study, you will find Salima outdoors hiking, traveling and visiting new places. She remains excited about the power and potential of education to deliver positive change, provide opportunity and fight poverty. “Having been born in a village that is a mere 50 miles from Amagoro, I wake up every morning determined, through my work, to make a positive impact and transform lives by means of education, much in the same way that mine has been transformed.  Kiwimbi’s mission presents a unique opportunity to do just that”.
